Another Crafty Christmas

Here are some little snippets of my proudest handmade crafty moments of Christmas 2013.

I couldn't find a My First Christmas decoration I liked so had an idea to make one using salt dough and Arthurs foot. This quickly escalated into a production line of salt dough crafts for the entire family. I would highly recommend it though. Its inexpensive, great to do with kids and really easy. All you need is 2 cups of flour, 1 salt and 1 water then bake at a low temp for several hours (basically until they have dried out) Then paint.

I also made the Mary Berry gingerbread house (off the Christmas Bake Off special) and I was sooooo chuffed with the results. This however wasn't inexpensive, easy or one for the kids but very enjoyable for me nevertheless and it was a beautiful centrepiece on Christmas day glowing on my new kitchen island. All in all I had an amazing Christmas with my 'boys' (love saying that) I feel so blessed.

Happy new year!! All the best for 2014 everyone I hope all your dreams come true.

Superhero Birthday Party

My little boy Harry wanted a superhero party for his 4th birthday complete with Spiderman cake. So I set to work (I love a good theme).
We had the party at home and had all the usual pass the parcel and dancing but the kids absolutely loved the 'capturing the baddies' game. Basically tying up two Dads with spiders web (crepe paper streamers) and then squirting them with more web (silly string). I'd recommend this game whatever the theme. It was messy, funny and noisy... everything a group of four year olds love.
I covered the ceiling in a large web made of paper streamers and made felt masks for all the little guests and the birthday boy Batman. My personal triumph was the Spiderman cake, bit lumpy and bumpy close up but tasted great and my little man was thrilled to bits with it.
Big thanks to my talented friend Ian Simpson of Henjay Photo captured the day perfectly.

Arthur Edward Gore

He's here!! Born Sunday 25th August 2013 at 9.43pm weighing 7lb 4.5oz.
Arthur may have been overdue but once he'd decided he was ready he didn't give us much notice, making his appearance just 20 minutes after we arrived at the hospital.

We are absolutely over the moon with our new arrival and I'm sure you'll agree he's a real cutie.

It's a boy!!

The wait is over! The new Prince is here even if his name isn't. I'm hoping they don't name him any of my favourites as they'll end up being a bit more popular than they are now. It was lovely seeing the new baby and the proud parents, it made me even more excited about meeting my little Prince.... 4 weeks to go!

Have a look at my Etsy shop!!

There are still a few of my prints available to buy through my Etsy shop Happy Little Lion. The designs I have left are now only £9.50 each plus P&P (frames not included) I have used Ikea frames in the photos and the end result would make a really lovely gift for a new baby. I have just hung the ABC one in Baby Gores nursery and it looks lovely.... If I do say so myself.
